Episode 16 Memories
We have salted sweet hours,
Made the years rewind,
Eaten all the ripened heart of life,
And made a luscious pickle of the rind.
--Isak Dinesen

In this episode, Bootie and Bossy remember their beloved Aunt Betty who passed away on June 15th. As Bossy said, the world has lost a beautiful soul. Aunt Betty is pictured above in the picture on the left with our dad, around 1938. In the picture on the right is our dad and Betty on the right holding a doll, probably around 1936. A few years ago, Betty wrote a biography chronicling her many adventures. We love you, Betty, and we know that you and dad are getting into all kinds of new adventures in heaven.

The recipe for this episode is yet another Ina Garten classic: Panzanella. This recipe has many different versions which means it's super adaptable to whatever ingredients you have on hand. The homemade croutons soak up the tantalizing flavors while maintaining their delicious crunch. It's perfect for a summer gathering, lunch, or a meal by itself! For more details, check out the recipe page.
Bootie Knits
Bootie completed the mini version of her sister's horse Hawthorne, and needless to say, Hawthorne was beside himself with joy and could not get over the likeness! You can find more details about this project in the show notes for Episode 12. For the crocheted carrot, Bootie used some leftover Serial Knitter's yarn Dyehouse sport in Marigold and Walking the dog (OOAK).

Bossy Knits
Bossy completed Holly the Hedgehog's outfit with a pair of French knickers! Holly is ready to party! You can find more details about Holly the Hedgehog in the show notes for Episode 14.

Behold, our sister Melissa's paintings celebrating Grandma panties and Tighty Whiteys!! Check out her website: Melissaklein.com

While visiting our sister on the Olympic Peninsula, Bootie took a picture of our Grandma's train case which our sister uses to store paints. Della Q makes a knitter's version of this which Bootie recently purchased at The Nifty Knitter in Issaquah, WA.

Bootie visited the Olympic Peninsula where she had the pleasure of visiting the Bazaar Girls Yarn Shop in Port Townsend. Shout out to our Aunt Annie who hammed it up for the video!

And whatever you do, don’t knit like my sister!
